SAUGUS LIONS CLUB BULLETIN

SEPTEMBER 2011

Thank you to everyone who showed up to Founder’s Day on Saturday, September 10, 2011, in support of The Saugus Lions Club.  It was great to see so many Lions from our club as well as Lions from clubs across the state and Country stop by our table to share their stories and to purchase water and raffle tickets.  We also had a great turnout of 51 people go through the eye mobile that was present at the event.

Additionally, thank you to everyone who was able to show up to our Canning event which was held this past month.  Joe Cefalo puts in a lot of work for this event and we appreciate his efforts.  I will post the amount we were able to raise at this event in a future bulletin.

Upcoming Events:

  • Saugus Lions/Rotary Club Joint Event – Rather than hold the typical Joint Meeting as we have done in the past, we expect this “event” will be more of a social informal gathering and will likely be held in the Spring.

  • Golf Tournament – Tom Traverse is still working hard to create a golf event that will crown someone with Saugus ties as the best golfer in Saugus.  All of the details of the event have not yet been finalized but there is hopes it will be held this upcoming Spring.

  • Plans are in the making for a new Youth Speech Committee.  Anyone interested in being a part of this committee can contact King Lion Nelson Chang.
