Thank you to Cafe DiCalbria for hosting our meeting on
September 16.
It was a nice change of venue for the evening.
Hopefully, we can do it again in the future.
Our speaker for the evening of September 16 was Dr. Michael Sandberg. He is an Associate Professor Of Opthamology
at Mass. Eye & Ear in Boston & is one of the doctors that works with the Mass. Lions District 33N Eyemobile. He is also a member of the Reading Lions Club.
Dr. Sandberg explained to us what happens when someone comes into the Eyemobile & what functions the machines perform.
Hopefully we will have Dr. Sandberg back at another meeting to tell us about his trips to Egypt & India.
Tail Twister Tony did an excellent job fining everybody in his native Italian tongue at the meeting.
For those who didn't understand him, you better start learning the language because I'm sure he will do it again sometime this year & that way you will know what he is fining you for !!!
At the October 7th meeting, King Lion Frank had the honor of awarding some pins to some of our members :
Joe Cefalo - For bringing in 5 new members.
Marc Chapdelaine - For bringing in 2 new members.
Bob Macero - For 25 years of service to The Saugus Lions Club.
Ted Golan - For 50 years of service to The Saugus Lions Club.
Congatulations !!!!!!
Also at our meeting that night, The Saugus Lions Club was honored to have a $ 1700.00 check donated to us from the estate of
John & Pauline Piccariello.
John was a long time dedicated member of our club that passed away several years ago. He will never be forgotten.
Thank you to the Piccariello family !!!!
Our annual Canning Drive was held on Saturday, September 26.
Great job as usual by Joe Cefalo in heading up this very lucrative fundraiser. Thanks to all the members that helped out that day, & also to the members of The Knights Of Columbus & The Saugus YMCA who also helped us out. We were able to raise over $ 2800.00 for
Eye Research.
