HAPPY BIRTHDAY

TOM TRAVERSE - APRIL 13

CARMINE MOSCHELLA - APRIL 29

Our condolences go out to Joe & Lucy Cefalo on the

passing of Lucy's mother, Liberata Beatrice, on

March 26. Our thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.

Thanks to all that attended & helped out at our annual Comedy Night on March 17.

We had more comedienne's than expected , with Lenny Clark headlining & doing a great job as he usually does. We raised around $ 3600.00 for Eye Research & other various Lions charities.

Can't wait for next year !!!!!

We had a variety or guests at our April 6th meeting, including several District Officers, to inform us of happenings in the district :

Jeannine Gentlemen - District Governor

Joe Gentlemen - President Visual Aids Foundation

Jeanne Farrow - Zone Chairperson

Edith Danforth - Cabinet Secretary

They were also honored to make a presentation to King Lion Frank Rossetti & the members of

The Saugus Lions Club :

Certificate Of Appreciation to The Saugus Lions Club in recognition of valuable contributions to the Mass. Lions Eye Research Fund in the amount of $ 6638.24 during 2009 - 2010.

By the way, I would think that District Officers would know not to eat dessert before the Lions Roar !!!!!!

Also at our April 6th meeting we were honored to have members of the

U.S. Department Of Homeland Security, U.S. Imigration & Customs Enforcement.

Fred McGrath - Lead Counsel for Customs & Immigration.

Chuck Jackson - Public Affairs Officer.

Bruce Foucart - Special Agent in Charge.

This was one of our best & informative speakers we have had, giving us insight on what is happening with our country & Homeland Security.

This years District Walk - A - Thon will be held the weekend of May 12 & 13 at

Horn Pond in Woburn.

Join us for a fun filled weekend of activities & help raise money for

Eye Research.

Congratulations go out to Dr. Michael Sandberg of the

Reading Lions Club on receiving the Charles L. Schepens

Lifetime Achievement Award for 2011.

Dr. Sandberg is the District Eye Mobile President.

The award will be presented on May 11th at the

Nahant Country Club at a dinner honoring Dr. Sandberg.

If anyone is interested in attending, please notify one of

our Officers or Board Of Directors.
